Impressive station, finished 1872.
And, after a tube trip south, we come to main boulevard, facing down to the Parliament (aka Ceausescu's €3 billion, 1,100-room palace).
Across the road is the opening into the Old Town, where we wander past Biserica Sfântul Anton (St Anton church and campanile)
and Biserica Mănăstirii Stavropoleos (Stavropoleos Monastery Church)
both with superb murals.
Next morning, exploring the square outside our flat, we come upon the Bucharest City Museum.
Apparently, it's National Museum Day so free entry
including a room dedicated to duel-fighting in Bucharest...
All too soon, time to wend our way back through the old city to the bus-stop for the airport
