No, not that one. This Casablanca is a small town less than 50 miles west of Santiago (though we slip off the autopista and dawdle on side roads - and just as well as we come across this floral stop for our morning coffee
where D's path is crossed by a local, going about his business).

and the gorgeous Casablanca Valley, are very different from anywhere else we've been in Chile: hills and fields of agricultural cultivation, and slap-bang in the centre of the wine region. Hence the Ruta del Vino. 25 miles further on (for tomorrow) is the west coast; we hope to pass through the UNESCO-heritage city of Valparaiso, and then head slightly further north to the smaller coastal towns of Horcon and Zapallar.

But meanwhile Casablanca. A few minutes out of town is a small family-owned winery, 'Re'; we spend a jolly hour with a tour of their cellar
