As we'd arrived and parked at sunset, we wake to find that the trees are blocking the sun more than than we'd expected; with no warming sunshine, the car is distinctly chilly! Takes a while to thaw
but meanwhile we're still not happy when the promised hot showers are nowhere to be found! Consequently, clear camp quickly and make breakfast/coffee at
a mirador over the lakeside a few miles from town
The next 60km flies by with excellent lake views
until we see Bariloche on the horizon

It's a big town (not especially nice to be honest - so just a few highlights)
though you can't knock its superb setting over the clear lake surrounded by snowy mountains (and here's the helpful guide to what we're seeing)
Another sign, this time for Cerro Catedral tempts
us to drive to the local ski resort 10km uphill (rather sad out of season feel) and we park up for a spectacular lake and mountain view
Then it's back onto Ruta 40, to drive the 100km south via hilly roads, all the time with lake and mountain views though the park, and folks going about their weekend pursuits
including a Sunday afternoon vintage cars rally (lots, trust me - this is just a scattered few of the jags, MGs Porsche, Merc, Austin Healeys, Aston Martins etc; I'm watching the mountains but get scolded to concentrate on the photos!)
Tonight's destination is El Bolson, where a hippy lifestyle seems to be in order: artesan produce and crafts, and lots of backpackers. We make our way up some backroads to a small park / mirador above town; hot so a cooling beer is in order
while D does the harder yards to find the view
